EXHIBITING ARTISTS

Cubs the Poet
, Visual Artist
Visual Artist
Architect of Intention, Memory, and Imagination

Currently Showing at GOTGOT Studios.

Cubs the Poet is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans poetry, visual art, and performance. Known for transforming language into an act of presence, he also creates visual works that extend his poetic sensibilities into form, color, and composition. Whether writing poems in public spaces, crafting intimate texts, or producing visual pieces that explore abstraction and emotional resonance, Cubs approaches art as a practice of deep listening and intentionality. His visual artistry often mirrors the qualities of his poetry—minimal yet expansive, contemplative yet boldly expressive.

Through line, texture, and symbolic gesture, he constructs meditative spaces that invite viewers to slow down, breathe, and encounter themselves with clarity. His work frequently engages themes of tenderness, justice, and the radical potential of imagination, offering both solace and provocation in a world that often moves too quickly to notice its own contradictions.

Cubs’s collaboration with GOT GOT Studios reflects his belief that art can interrupt cycles of harm and open pathways toward collective healing. In communities where people often say they have been “got got” by systems of power, his work—both written and visual—serves as a reminder that creativity can restore possibility, dignity, and connection.

Jay McKay, Visual Artist
Cultural Archivist
Painter of Memory and Resistance

Currently Showing at GOTGOT Studios.

Jay McKay is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose work explores the emotional architecture of place, lineage, and survival. Rooted in the aesthetics of the Gulf South, McKay’s paintings and mixed-media works function as cultural archives—holding stories that might otherwise be erased by displacement, criminalization, or the slow violence of inequity.

His practice is grounded in the belief that art can bear witness where institutions fail to do so. Through layered textures, bold palettes, and symbolic motifs, McKay renders visible the quiet heroism of everyday people navigating systems not built for their protection. His partnership with GOT GOT Studios reflects his commitment to transforming personal narrative into collective advocacy, ensuring that art not only reflects the world but helps repair it.

Agnes St. Amand, Sculptor
Ceramicist
Artist of Form, Memory, and Material Storytelling

Currently Showing at GOTGOT Studios.

Agnes St. Amand is a Lafayette-based sculptor and ceramic artist whose practice explores the quiet intelligence of materials and the emotional resonance of form. Trained in both fine arts and design, she works primarily in clay, creating sculptural pieces that reflect her fascination with structure, repetition, and the subtle narratives embedded in everyday objects.

Her work is shaped by a deep engagement with process—hand-building, carving, and refining surfaces until they evoke both delicacy and strength. St. Amand’s sculptures often draw from architectural motifs, natural patterns, and the cultural textures of South Louisiana, resulting in pieces that feel simultaneously grounded and ethereal.

With exhibitions across the region and a growing body of public and private commissions, St. Amand has become known for her ability to translate material into metaphor. Her collaboration with GOT GOT Studios reflects her belief that art can hold space for contemplation, connection, and collective responsibility. Through her work, she invites viewers to consider how form, history, and human experience intertwine—and how beauty can become a vessel for justice.
